True Stories From The Secret: Control the Voices in Your Head

How To Control The Voices In Your Head
How To Control The Voices In Your Head

One of my true stories from The Secret

This is one of the true stories from the Secret book that I want to share about how to control the voices in your head. All day long we are processing many thoughts.

You begin your day wondering where your clothes are, and if you have enough time to cook breakfast. You end your day anxiously thinking about your hot shower and warm bed. These thoughts are normal and so repetitive that we normally don’t think about them.

The other thoughts that pass through our minds are all day long but the attacks we receive to our minds are many. Thoughts like, “I’m ugly” or “I’m so tired” are all negative thoughts we have that sometimes lead into verbal translations. I constantly preach about avoiding these thoughts across my blog, and social media profiles but I’d like to get deeper into our thoughts and explain what this philosophy really means to me.

I believe that God is for me. I believe the devil is against me. I also believe that the devil will do anything he can to control the mind of God’s people. This includes people who are believers and who aren’t. The devil wants to destroy you and persuade you that life is nothing more than just the existence we live now. My friend, there’s more to life than what’s on this Earth.

Inside of you is a goal or dream placed onto your heart by God. The dream to become a doctor, the first man to land on Mars, to own the first nonprofit for youth in your town. Whatever it may be, God gives you the opportunity to own that while you live your life on Earth.

Some of us follow those dreams, and others do not. If you choose not to, God will find another person who will, but for those most part the problem isn’t whether or not you do or do not achieve this goal, it’s why it didn’t happen. What stopped you from doing so.

Now there’s one reason in my opinion why people don’t follow these dreams and it’s self-doubt.

The idea that you’re not smart enough to pass school, or that you’ll never get fit enough to climb Mount Everest. These thoughts can’t come from you.

Why would you think about yourself in these ways? You know you’re special and that you are the only one with the ideas and opinions that you have- yet your own mind doubts itself? Doesn’t it sound counter-intuitive for your mind to want to achieve goals, yet it gets itself into depression, and calls itself- it’s own body names?

My friend, this is not your mind. This is the devil.

The devil will do anything to prevent God’s plans for you to come to fruition. If he has to pretend to be your mind and act as if you’re saying these things to yourself he will do so. He’ll make you believe negative and untrue things about yourself that if without this wisdom can lead you to believe you are these things and later actually become these thoughts.

Now that you know this, what can you do about it?

It’s time to ignore these thoughts. Think about every and any thought you had ever had? My personal ones were:

  • I’m old
  • I’m ugly
  • I’m tired
  • I’m so fat
  • My company will never make profit
  • I don’t know what I’m doing
  • I’m not strong enough
  • I didn’t go to a good enough school
  • I don’t have a great resume

The list goes on and on. Do you want to know what I personally do about these thoughts? I just ignore them. Ignore these thoughts, don’t believe them and speak the opposite of these thoughts.

Our tongues, our words, and thoughts will come to pass. If you believe long enough that you’re old- you will see fine wrinkles begin to appear. If you believe and begin to call yourself overweight, you will gain weight and be unable to keep it off. You will persuade your mind to develop your body into these physical characteristics.

Whichever negative thought you receive tomorrow morning when you glance at the mirror, think the opposite. If you can’t begin to think positive begin to ignore it. Do not dwell on negative thoughts!

Begin to believe you will have an everlasting and fruitful life, and future. Imagine yourself directing orders in your own business building. If you are barren, believe you will have children. If you are broke, see and imagine the checks in the mail, and your dream job. Speak as if these things have already happened.

When I first heard about this philosophy I didn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe it but then I had read the book, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. In this book, it’s where this philosophy is truly explained in detail. I said to myself, “Why not try this outlook? What could it hurt?” Why not try thinking positive and imagining my dream future life instead of always imagining the negative things. If I am living my life the best that I could, I’d want it to be in a way where I always saw the best in myself and not the worst.

I’m telling you, my friends, to give it a shot. Ignore the negative thoughts the devil attacks you with daily, they are not your own thoughts! I’m so glad to share one of my stories from The Secret. The Secret influenced me greatly and I hope it influences you too.

Absolutely, the Devil has no weapons of his own. He often tries to prey on our minds and thought faculties. Thanks for putting a strong reminder forward. Gracias!
