Growing up we believe the fairy tales where the prince meets his princess and spends an hour at most with her singing and dancing at an event and falls completely in love with this average girl that he makes her princess once they marry each other.

What happens after they get married? Where do they go?

It actually doesn’t matter. Let’s talk about our world here where we quickly learn in our teen years that love does not have a fairy tale ending but a rather crucial one if you do not make life what you want it to be.

Eventually, some of you will find your husband or wife and realize that your wedding really was the best day of your lives together because marriage doesn’t make life easier it makes it harder. You will not stay in love with each other. That’s the key lesson here. You get over each other after a year or less.

See once the newlywed stage passes and reality hits and you have your routine set you can get bored or annoyed with each other. This is where people give up. It happens every year, month and day that you get over each other.

Why get married then you may ask but actually, this reality above is the best part of marriage. You challenge each other every day to go out on dates, work hard and give compliments to stay married. You learn to use your manners and how to have sex with each other. You see this is the exciting part of sticking and staying with one person for the rest of your life.

If every day you focused on how to make your spouse happy today then you’ll see what we’re talking about. The key is taking your eyes off of yourself and thinking what can I do better for the love of my life not what is he not doing or why can’t they be more like that person.

Marriage truly is hard work. It shouldn’t and will not come as easy as the marriage of a prince and princess but that’s the best part of it. It’s great that marriage isn’t that way because it makes it too easy. What’s the point of working hard for something if it’s already the way it needs to be?

Love is not forever unless you make it that way.
