When You Do Blow Up in Anger

No one is perfect. God made humans perfect and allowed free will. We messed up from the beginning. Luckily, He sent Christ down and got everything squared away and today we can live in the new testament and study the old. Even so, we’re not emotionless and God gave us emotions to let us know that there’s a problem.

One emotion spoken about in the bible is anger and here’s what it says:

Ephesians 4:26-27

26-27 Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.

So what if you did stay angry? What if I blew up at my boyfriend? How do I redeem myself?

Well, you can’t redeem yourself. No one can but Christ can, did and has. You’ve been forgiven so all you can really do is let go and move on.

How do you move on?

Don’t condemn yourself. God knows everyone makes mistakes and that’s why He sent Christ down for you. I talk to myself and say, “Someone else did worse than I and God forgave that person too”. You’re not alone.

Move On

As humans, we have a bad habit of remembering our mistakes and when you do just tell yourself it’s in the past and just forget about it. Don’t stay on that thought and move on to another thought. Eventually, as years pass you won’t remember how you blew up at your wife and why.

Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect except Christ. He came to redeem you and now you are blessed with grace. Don’t worry about it. Over time, with that knowledge, you’ll blow up less and less.
